In the last third of the XIX century, the people of Kalocsa liked to use mostly black, blue and red for embroidery. The motifs were organizes in lines or in wreath patterns. They favored the end-to-end stitching. The size of of the filled in flowers were smaller than the later motifs. Besides flower motifs the liked to use horse shoe, and heart but they liked to embroidery birds too.
